It takes alot of thought to come up with an answer like this Smokie. It is profound in many ways. If more people paid attention to this nugget of wisdom, Psychologists, Psychiatrists and therapists would be out of business. It is so basic, and real. People want to complicate things by making complex problems losing sight of just how darn simple life can be if you let it. Basic morals/values are even included..While life doesn't come with instructions and neither do horses. I think that folks need to keep in mind, these simple basic things apply to everything within 360 degrees of you. I think you hit the nail on the head. And horses usually aren't the root of the problem..the humans are!

Thanks Lara I appreciate your thoughts! Smoke

As I watched the movie "Buck" I kept wondering what happened to his brother, Smokie. I was pleased to find this site and to hear that you are doing well!
By the way, it's not unusual for siblings to remember their childhood differently. You should hear my husband and his sisters argue about "the way it really was"! Everyone has their own filter.

Hi Smokie,
What did you think of the clinic last Saturday. I know I enjoyed it. And from what I am hearing so did everyone else.
Patty

I thought it was very good! Great facility, and the owners were very nice. I will be looking forward to doing it again next year! Smokie

Ouch! That looks painful. I have done that. They say it only hurts when you hit the ground. I disagree. It really hurts when they toss you and then give you a good kick while your are still in the air.

You Wrote:

'got back into horses full time in my own way to help folks that perhaps are not on the level of the folks that ride with Buck'.

That would be me! :D

I have been wandering aimlessly through different materials for some time now. What I continue to battle however is not enough $$ to keep up and wost than that, intimidation! It always managed to rear it's ugly head when it was time to apply what I had learned.

Not so with the straight forwardness and encouragement I find in your instruction Smokie! I feel a connection as well as a personal vision for a new day in my life!

I'm about to see my personal horsemanship soar now, I feel & see it before me. Finally!

In your 'all-of-life' wisdom depicted so honestly & freely on the pages of your books, I find myself facing personal turmoil I have carried for years now. I'm seeing the strength to once and for all, rid it farewell!

How wonderful to have your light shine through the shadows of so many who will be drawn to you for inspiration, (in-spirit-action), as I have!

May the spirit of the horse, continue to guide, teach & free us all~!

A heart-felt thanks to ya Smokie!

Thanks Suzie for your kind words and I'm glad I could help you along your path! All the Best Smoke

Hello from MI. I think your drawing is quite entertaining. Looks like what my Lily looked like when Janis bailed off of her. YES MY Lily. Tom agreed to let me keep her. I would buy some from you. Esp. for Janis and I. Sorry to hear about your friend. Take care. Wish you were closer. You have enriched my life with horses. Jeri

Sorry you aren't hearing from people because you SHOULD!!! I'm also guilty of sending emails, but not commenting on your blog. However, I just discovered you so that's my excuse.

I'm almost finished reading "Equiknowledgy" and at the same time I'm also reading "Whisper This." You say something about marketing in "Equiknowledgy" and I have to agree based on how much money I've contributed to the "natural horsemanship phenomena." But I have to say that it's sure better than what was available when I first got into horses, which was basically nothing as far as I knew.

Anyway, I'm glad I've discovered you and I'll do my best to spread the word!

Thanks for your kind words Anne! I'm glad you are enjoying them. Smokie

My prayers are with you, Smokie.
Job 39:19-25
19 “Do you give the horse his might?
Do you clothe his neck with a mane?
20 Do you make him leap like the locust?
His majestic snorting is terrifying.
21 He paws [1] in the valley and exults in his strength;
he goes out to meet the weapons.
22 He laughs at fear and is not dismayed;
he does not turn back from the sword.
23 Upon him rattle the quiver,
the flashing spear, and the javelin.
24 With fierceness and rage he swallows the ground;
he cannot stand still at the sound of the trumpet.
25 When the trumpet sounds, he says ‘Aha!’
He smells the battle from afar,
the thunder of the captains, and the shouting

I have six horses two which you can ride and three that needs broke. One is a old girl that i got for nothing. But as you say nothing is free. I don't want to be a pro. trainer and i have the rest of my life to work on the three. and i have had some education with horses so maybe in four or five years i'll have five to ride. thanks agin smokie.
